The story then rewinds to twelve hours earlier, when Surya wakes from a dream about a car accident and starts receiving a string of odd calls: a mysterious person asks him to rush to an office for a music director interview, another sender hands him food, and a third urges him to join a competition. He becomes distracted by memories of his father and worries about an impending incident, yet nothing truly dangerous materializes. During the interview, Surya ends up insulting the music director and is disparaged in return by his manager, who happens to be a friend of his father. The manager bluntly tells him that his stubborn dedication to music helped seal his father’s fate, planting the seed of guilt that haunts Surya.

Meanwhile, at home, Vennela faces her own crisis: the groom and his family arrive to seal a marriage she does not want. She tries to cancel the arrangement to pursue her dreams, but the groom’s family insists, and her father pushes her toward matrimony as she struggles to clear entrance exams she has failed for two years. She promises her father she will pass this time, only to fail the mock test again. The pressure from both sides pushes them toward despair, and both of them consider suicide as an escape.
