Shot during the 1979 metal‑workers strike on São Paulo’s outskirts, Leon Hirszman’s footage stayed unused until after his 1987 death, when its relevance resurfaced. The documentary follows negotiations, the birth of the Workers’ Party, and the rise of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva—from activist jailed in the 80s to Brazil’s president (2003‑2010).
