The documentary A Trip Through the Walt Disney Studios was produced after RKO Radio Pictures executives requested a behind‑the‑scenes look at Disney’s operations. Never intended for public release, it screened only for RKO executives. Its footage was later edited into the public featurette How Walt Disney Cartoons Are Made, and it was filmed during the first week of July 1937.
