Aquiles Taveira, a low‑level civil servant, is constantly pressured by his family’s mounting financial expectations. Fed up, he fabricates an embezzlement scandal at his office and flees to the beach town of Guarujá, where he briefly enjoys a quieter, carefree existence before his past catches up.
