A girl is found injured in a bus accident while traveling to religious sites across India. She is taken to a hill‑station hospital, where a doctor declares that she suffers from amnesia and has forgotten herself and her past.
With no memory to guide her, she begins a patient, courageous journey to discover who she was and who she might become. She wrestles with questions about her identity and faces a world of people who pretend to be well‑wishers, only to exploit her vulnerability. In this fragile moment, she is quietly protected by the brave Sharath Menon [Jayaram], who stands by her side as she moves toward a pending transformation into a new self, Maya.
Dr. Sandhya [Srividya], the physician who treated her, also happens to be Sharath’s mother. She offers comfort and support, and she ultimately allows the emergence of Maya. Yet Sandhya cannot ignore the uncertainty ahead and wonders what the future holds for the young woman she has helped guide. To guard Maya’s new life, Sandhya contemplates the possibility of family ties, and Sharath arranges a few staged moments with actors to convince Sandhya that Maya has parents, hoping to secure her consent to marry Maya. Sandhya, faced with a difficult choice, lets the lovers face their fate together.
Meanwhile, Dr. Narendran [Suresh Gopi], a scientist working in the United States, begins a determined search for his long‑lost wife, Gauri. After an extensive quest with friends and resources, he learns of a hill‑station accident victim who resembles the missing woman. He calls Sandhya during her birthday party, where the doctor announces Maya’s engagement to Sharath, a revelation that shocks him. Narendran remembers the beautiful days spent with his wife and weighs what he has learned against the present truth unfolding before him.
The three principal lives converge in a moment of quiet, unsettling clarity: Narendran meets Maya, and she speaks to him as if he were a stranger. He concludes that she has become a new person and decides that revealing the truth about their past together would only bring sorrow. Sharath, hopeful, asks if she is the one he has searched for; Narendran simply shakes his head and withdraws, leaving behind wedding photos he had carried with him, a witness to a life they half‑remember. The film ends on a hushed, unsettled note as Maya and Sharath exchange a lingering, bewildered glance, watching him depart after the tea she had prepared remains untouched.
