In 1920s British India, Arjun Singh Rathod, a renowned architect, marries Lisa against his Hindu family's wishes. His family ambushes his car en route to Bombay, beating him and setting the car on fire in an attempt to kill Lisa. This traumatic event drives him to abandon his devout faith and leave his family for his wife.

Arjun wins the contract to survey the stately manor in Palampur and moves in with Lisa. He begins his work while Lisa adjusts to the quiet countryside. The project marks a new beginning away from his difficult family and the city.

Lisa begins to hear eerie noises in the manor and grows increasingly afraid. She asks Balwant, the caretaker, who dismisses her fears and hints she might be imagining things. Arjun attributes the disturbances to anxiety and the quiet of the countryside.

Lisa discovers a sealed back room that opens to reveal a library, a grand piano, and a portrait of a woman in royal attire named Gayatri. She plays the piano and feels she is being watched. When the room seals itself again, Arjun refuses to believe her account.

Arjun insists on surveying every part of the house and seeks access to the back room. He has MK remove the library doors, testing whether Lisa's account is true. Lisa's experiences are gradually validated by the work.

Seeking solace, Lisa visits the village church and befriends Father Thomas. He agrees to bless the manor, hoping to ease the haunting as Arjun continues his work. The priest's involvement signals a shift toward supernatural explanation.

Father Thomas blesses the house and begins probing its dark past with a colleague. They realize the manor is cursed and tied to Gayatri's soul. The revelation heightens Lisa's fear and curiosity.

Arjun leaves for a high-profile meeting in Delhi, taking armed guards after rebel threats on the road. Balwant fails to pass Father Thomas's warning to Lisa, leaving her unaware of the danger. The couple becomes divided by distance and danger.

Back home, Lisa falls gravely ill with night terrors and is admitted to hospital. The spirit manifests and reveals the doctor's crime of raping a superior’s daughter. The doctor agrees to attempt religious methods under Arjun's coercion.

Arjun questions MK, who reveals the previous owner bought the property two years earlier and directs him to Radha, the former caretaker. Arjun travels to Naya Nagar to find Radha, who recounts the estate's tragic past and the 1857 uprising surrounding Gayatri, Mohan, Kesar Ma, and Rai Bahadur.

Radha narrates the backstory: in 1857, Rai Bahadur's daughter Gayatri and her maid Kesar Ma are left to manage the estate as British soldiers press on. Mohan Kant, a British spy, betrays the patriots, is exposed, and is hanged in the library by Gayatri's father. Mohan vows to haunt the manor, and Gayatri's life ends in disgrace.

Arjun studies the haunting and, with Father Thomas' defiant exorcism, attempts to free Lisa before the new moon's full control. Balwant and Father Thomas die, and Mohan's spirit is defeated when Arjun recites the Hanuman Chalisa. Lisa is finally liberated from the possession.

With the spirit destroyed and Lisa safe, Arjun completes the project and acknowledges his faith. He believes Gayatri's soul has been reborn and found peace with the manor. Lisa and Arjun begin a new life in harmony with the house's restored balance.
