After her grandfather dies, Valentina moves with her sculptor husband Pierre to the inherited family villa, sharing it with her cousin Marta who already lives there. Their opposite natures—Valentina reckless, Marta seemingly proper—clash when Valentina suddenly dies. Marta seduces Pierre, and peace shatters when a police officer investigates her death.
