In 1918 Ukraine, a small force of 400 young patriots prepares to defend Kyiv against a much larger army. The film follows patriotic students who become key figures in the Battle of Kruty, a pivotal moment in Ukrainian history. Against this backdrop of conflict, the story unfolds around the Savytskyi family: a general leading Ukraine’s counterintelligence and his two sons, Andrii and Oleksa, who become entangled in the struggle for their nation’s freedom.
