It explores the complexities of a close-knit community, showcasing family bonds, friendly rivalries, and the local amateur opera scene. The narrative also touches upon historical tensions, including denunciations to the NKVD and the suppression of religious practices, all set against the backdrop of a vibrant city garden and, ultimately, the enduring power of love.
