In summer 1947, after World II, a stranger arrives in a Transcarpathian village near the border. He slips into Atanas’s well and reveals himself as Bogdan Susik, former butler of a local count. Susik admits he helped hide the count’s treasure chest in 1944 and that the map was placed in the well. He asks Atanas to keep silent and help find riches.
