Set in 1942 Germany, a mother wakes to find her son Heinrich’s bed empty after the Jewish neighbors are deported. Flashbacks show six‑year‑old Heinrich and his friend Paul, whose family is slated for transport. Heinrich’s mother had whispered that they were going to “Toyland.” Believing he will join them, Heinrich disappears, sparking a frantic search through police and the rail yard to save him before it’s too late.
