Italy, 1977. Retired widower Professor Bruschi leads a regimented life grounded in his communist ideals, constantly clashing with his son’s free‑spirited existence and his son’s hippie girlfriend, Stella. When the couple splits, their four‑year‑old daughter is left in Bruschi’s care, and he gradually assumes a paternal role. Stella later returns to the elegant villa, demanding the child’s return, forcing Bruschi to confront his rigid ways.
