In 1985, mountaineers Joe Simpson and Simon Yates attempt to climb the formidable Siula Grande in Peru. During their descent, a fall leaves Simpson with severe injuries, presenting Yates with a harrowing decision. Faced with the prospect of his own demise, Yates must confront a difficult choice: continue the descent and risk his own life, or cut the rope tethering him to his injured partner.
