Time Bandits

In the early 1980s England, we meet Kevin Lotterby, an ordinary 11-year-old boy with a profound fascination for history and myths. Despite his interests, his materialistic parents rarely engage with him, opting instead for evening game shows.

One fateful night, after being sent to bed early, Kevin witnesses an armored knight bursting out from his wardrobe. This surreal encounter transports him to a tranquil forest clearing, only for him to return to his bedroom moments later, bewildered by what just happened.

Following his strange experience, Kevin decides to document any future peculiar occurrences. Armed with a Polaroid camera and a flashlight, he goes to bed hoping for something else unusual to happen.

On the second night, Kevin's patience pays off as a band of six oddly-dressed dwarfs emerges from his closet, mistaking him for 'The Supreme Being.' They engage in a hilarious interrogation, pushing him against the wall, and inadvertently discover a hidden tunnel.

The dwarfs and Kevin journey through a portal, finding themselves amidst the Second Battle of Castiglione in Italy, 1796. They encounter a fortress where Napoleon Bonaparte is enjoying a Punch and Judy show.

The dwarfs impress Napoleon with their dancing skills, leading him to appoint them as his new generals. Taking advantage of the situation, they cunningly rob him of his plunder before making a narrow escape.

While adventuring, the dwarfs reveal to Kevin their true mission of working for The Supreme Being, originally creators of life's wonders. However, due to a mishap, they were demoted and turned to thievery to become rich.

The group meets Robin Hood, who plans to take their loot and redistribute it to the needy. Meanwhile, their actions attract the attention of 'Ultimate Evil,' a sorcerer intent on seizing their time-map for his own devious ambitions.

After accidentally falling through a portal, Kevin finds himself in the court of King Agamemnon, where he helps defeat a Minotaur. There, he experiences a sense of belonging and captures moments with his camera before the dwarfs whisk him away again.

The dwarfs and Kevin travel to the Titanic, just as the ship is sinking. Amidst the chaos, they discover the location of a legendary treasure, sparking another adventure back to the Fortress of Ultimate Evil.

During their quest, they cross paths with Winston the Oger and his wife, leading to a dramatic escape from a giant's threat. The group's determination aids in their bid for survival in the face of overwhelming odds.

Inside the Fortress of Ultimate Evil, Kevin and the dwarfs are captured by the shape-shifting Evil. Utilizing their cleverness and teamwork, they plot their escape, showcasing their resilience in challenging circumstances.

Various historical figures join Kevin and the dwarfs for a climactic confrontation against Ultimate Evil. This battle culminates in a fitting end for Evil, brought upon by The Supreme Being, who reveals his role as both creator and observer of their journey.

Kevin's mischievous adventures follow him home where remnants of Evil inadvertently appear. As he witnesses his parents' disregard for the imminent danger, he confronts the consequences of his adventure.

In the closing moments of the film, Kevin reflects on his extraordinary journey, supported by Polaroid snapshots of his adventures. The camera pans out to reveal the cosmos, characterized by The Supreme Being rolling up the map, suggesting the expansiveness of the story.
