A war‑torn Balkan tale of refugees, adapted from Zaharia Stancu’s short story. It follows a thief and a youth crossing ash‑covered ruins of a crumbling empire, witnessing a diplomat’s death, a train escape and moments of silence and gesture. Dark and harsh, the film uses silhouettes and muted emotions to explore meaning amid loss and a shattered home.
