Vincenc Babočka, a modest police clerk who imagines himself a brilliant detective, vacations in Karlovy Vary and is mistaken for the wanted adventurer Leon Weber. He exploits the error to uncover Weber’s gang, which plans to steal the Maharaja of Yohir’s diamonds. Disguised as General Naryshkin he meets the Maharaja, but the real Weber’s arrival complicates everything.
