At a convention, researcher Michel Touzac and colleagues attend a stage show by caricaturist Targon. Targon's assistant Florence recognizes him and, distraught, attempts suicide. Michel saves her using his technique, and a flashback reveals Florence is Karin, Michel’s estranged wife thought dead by their daughter Susette, who must now face their reunion.
