Augusto, an aging small‑time con man, teams up with two younger hustlers—Roberto, who dreams of becoming the Italian Johnny Ray, and Carlo, known as “Picasso.” Their scheme quickly unravels as a series of mishaps and tangled personal affairs leave Augusto in deep trouble, underscoring that some people simply don’t care about anyone’s welfare.
