When the Cuban Revolution erupts, an aristocratic, bourgeois Cuban family secludes itself in its mansion, hoping the new regime will be toppled. Over time, their isolation drives them to revert through successive forms of governance—first capitalism, then feudalism, and finally a primitive, savage state. The film was preserved by the Academy Film Archive in 2017.
