Former Texas State policeman Shadrach Jones is consumed by vengeance after his brother is shot from behind and the money for a joint ranch is stolen. Believing the killer rides with Captain McKellar’s Montana cattle drive, he takes the trail‑boss job to hunt him. McKellar urges him to trust the law, but Shadrach’s ruthless pursuit alienates the crew and ends unexpectedly.
