In a Soviet peripheral town in the 1980s, 11‑year‑old Rolandas and his father move next door to Emilija, also eleven. Shy at first, the children bond by speaking through the shared wall, their balconies and a makeshift socket linking the flats. Both families hover over divorce. After a near‑tragic accident stops Emilija from using her balcony, the pair decide to meet for a real date.
