Two men are freed from the Arizona Territorial Prison at Yuma in 1898. The Dutchman hunts gold and revenge against those who framed him, while McBain, trying to go straight, is drawn into theft. The film adapts W.R. Burnett's 1949 novel The Asphalt Jungle, setting it in a 1898 mining town and marking the second adaptation after the 1950 noir classic.
