12-year-old Ragnhild is haunted by a local legend of a mad black horse that fled into the Sunnmøre Alps centuries ago. After hearing night noises and glimpsing the creature in her yard, she is dismissed by adults. Determined, she and her best friend trek to the family cabin on the mountain farm, hoping to find the wild horse. Their search is threatened by the rugged terrain and indiscriminate hunters who shoot anything they encounter.
