A gang of thieves threatens the city, prompting the police chief to order their capture within 48 hours. The criminals frequent a café run by a widow, her daughter and the widow’s suitor, Cantinflas, who gets into a brawl with the robbers at the police station. Impressed by his bravery, Cantinflas is recruited into the police for special missions.
