Carling, a smooth‑talking yet arrogant man (Karel Stepanek), lives alone in a remote house where he is visited one after another by strangers, each nursing a personal vendetta against him. After the last guest departs, a body is discovered the following morning, and one of the visitors identifies it as Carling himself.
