In a remote Teutonic village, revelers dance and drink in celebration of a wedding feast. An elder interrupts, reminding them that the valley was once sorrowful, not joyful. He recounts how the tyrannical master of the mountains ruled the land with brutal despotism, casting a shadow over the people’s lives.
