Upon receiving an Academy Award, a director reflects on a comedian he worked with in cinema's early days, crediting him for his success. Unaware the former comic is now destitute, he watches the ceremony on a TV screen from a barstool. It aired as part of the Screen Directors Playhouse series, sponsored by Kodak and the Screen Directors Guild.
