In a pre‑revolution Iranian village, a young woman rebels against tradition, repeatedly refusing marriage proposals and even removing her veil, which her family interprets as possession. They summon an exorcist while she struggles for independence. Filmed clandestinely in 1977 as the Khomeini regime rose, a rough cut was smuggled abroad in a false‑bottomed suitcase and completed in the United States; the film has never been shown in Iran.
