In 1936, when Bucharest was still celebrated as the “Paris of the East”, the three Duduleanu sisters—heiresses of a wealthy merchant family—govern their clan with an iron fist, dominating both business and social life. Young journalist Mircea Aldea becomes part of the family by marrying their daughter, but the marriage quickly collapses, exposing the fragile foundation of their power.
