Al Capone climbs from Chicago gang captain to crime kingpin while his brother Jimmy moves to Harmony, Nebraska, becoming marshal Richard Hart, marrying teacher Kathleen, raising a family and, with his deputy, battling Al’s bootlegging. The syndicate lawyer recognizes Jimmy and attempts a Chicago reunion, but bribes cannot sway him.
