The Kung Fu Instructor

Two Chinese clans, the Mong and the Chow, have a longstanding feud rooted in territorial disputes and strict laws that punish crossing lines with mutilation. The clans maintain their separation, deepening the hostility and distrust between them. These laws and territorial boundaries set the stage for ongoing conflict within the town of Ho Si.

Mong Fan seeks to use illicit methods to eliminate his enemies and aims to recruit the renowned Kung Fu teacher Wong Yang. Mong Fan's plan involves orchestrating a staged fight that results in Wong Yang's wrongful murder to discredit him publicly. This scheme creates suspicion around Wong Yang and heightens tensions between the clans.

A hired attacker challenges Wong Yang to a fight, which results in the attacker's death in front of witnesses, framing Wong. Fearing arrest and wrongful punishment, Wong Yang escapes to prove his innocence and avoid persecution, setting him on the run from Mong forces. His flight marks a turning point in his struggle for justice.

An emissary from the Mong clan finds Wong Yang in hiding and offers him an alliance, promising to clear his name in exchange for martial arts lessons. Wong Yang consents, motivated by the desire to rehabilitate his reputation and to undermine Mong Fan's malicious plans. This decision begins his complex relationship with the Mong clan.

Chow Ping, a member of the Chow clan, risks crossing the dangerous boundary to secretly observe Wong Yang teaching martial arts. Inspired by what he sees, Chow Ping returns to practice and hone the skills he has learned, demonstrating his dedication to mastering Kung Fu. His curiosity and bravery set him on a path of martial training.

Chow Ping is captured on Mong territory and brought to Mong Fan for sentencing, where execution seems imminent. Wong Yang intervenes, speaking up on Chow Ping's behalf, and manages to retrieve him, showcasing Wong Yang's loyalty and the growing conflict between the clans. This act of defiance escalates tensions further.

Wong Yang fights his way through Mong forces to rescue Chow Ping and safely crosses back into Chow territory. Both are welcomed by their clan, and Wong Yang begins teaching Chow Ping the art of Kung Fu, particularly the Shaolin Pole Style, in preparation for future confrontations. Their alliance strengthens their resolve.

Teacher Wong Yang attempts to negotiate with Mong Fan, who initially offers to end hostilities and requests Wong to teach his men Kung Fu. Mong Fan then tries to manipulate Wong through bribery and blackmail, revealing his true intentions to use martial arts for control and destruction. The negotiations end with Mong Fan attacking Wong Yang.

During the assault, Wong Yang is seriously wounded by Mong soldiers. Chao Cheh hides and tends to his injuries while Mong forces continue their search, demonstrating Wong's vulnerability and the ongoing threat from Mong Fan. This struggle underscores the peril faced by the protagonists.

Mong Fan orders his men to kill monks to frame the Chow clan, further inciting conflict and chaos. The police then arrest members of the Chow family based on false accusations, making Mong Fan's plan to eliminate his enemies seem successful. This act of treachery escalates the cycle of violence.

Wong Yang and Chow Ping train intensively in Shaolin Pole Style to prepare for their confrontation with Mong Fan. Chow Ping's determination and skilled training symbolize hope for justice and redemption amidst the turmoil. They plan to clear the Chow family's name and challenge Mong Fan directly.

Wong Yang and Chow Ping proceed to confront Mong Fan and reveal the truth about the conspiracy. However, Mong Fan, aware of their plans, lays a trap to annihilate them and his enemies in a deadly confrontation. The climax involves combat, treachery, and the fight for justice.
