In 1981, a Swedish scientist, Paul Mandell, successfully tests a submarine‑tracking laser device funded by the U.S. government through its liaison, Miller. The prototype is then destroyed and stolen. Stig Larsson of the Swedish Secret Agency suspects an inside job and recruits marine Thomas Kallin to infiltrate Mandell’s circle as his driver. Though Kallin is betrayed, he persists in uncovering the conspiracy while Larsson closes in on the truth behind the heist.
