Ambrose C. Park, abandoned as an infant on a park bench, works as an assistant to a diamond cutter. Shyster lawyer Remlick schemes to acquire a priceless uncut diamond by having Emily Drummon, Duke Fargoh and Maggie Drummon pose as Ambrose’s long‑lost parents and sister. Amid a series of comic mishaps the group secures the gem and plans to have Ambrose cut it, simultaneously shattering his fabricated family ties. Maggie, unwilling to perpetuate the lie, warns Ambrose, sparking a frantic chase. In the end Ambrose rejoices, ready to marry the woman he believes to be his sister.
