She offers her soul to God while surrendering her body to sin. When the young noble Don Monza is discovered flirting with a sister nun across the stone wall, the strict Virginia de Leva expels him. Learning of a rumored affair with her trustee, Monza duels and kills the man, assuming his role. Despite Virginia’s initial resistance, he wins her love and gains access to her bed. Their illicit liaison soon becomes public, and Monza, now deeply in love, will stop at nothing to preserve it.
