Set in Seattle in 1999, Meg pushes a documentary crew to investigate the bizarre events that landed her boyfriend Steven H. in the hospital. He is critically injured, his body torn by deep lacerations from an unknown assailant—perhaps a wild animal or a person with unusually long, hard nails. He also suffers a rapidly spreading infection.
