A single mother from the countryside moves to Tokyo with her sixth‑grade son. She leaves the boy in the care of his uncle’s family while she attempts to revive a struggling grocery shop and takes a job at a local inn. At the inn the boy becomes friends with the innkeeper’s daughter, forging a tender connection amid the challenges.
