A prisoner is compelled to conceal himself inside a scale model of a hammer‑and‑sickle emblem. Within this cramped setting a doomed romance develops between him and a female laborer, but her jealous young son disrupts their bond. The convict later attempts a desperate escape, culminating in a haunting sequence where swans glide past the imprisoned inmates while the woman waits in vain, her hope fading into tragedy.
