In the climactic hours of Susuk, Ayu finally learns that the countless susuk needles lodged in Laras’ flesh are not merely cosmetic charms but tiny cages for a malevolent jinn. After the shaman’s futile attempt and Pras’ painstaking removal of every needle but one, the remaining talisman pulses with an evil that has already begun to dominate Laras’ will.

Desperate to stop the spirit from spreading further, Ayu, her lover Arman, and Laras’ estranged father Damar decide to seal the darkness the same way Laras’ mother was once contained: by burying the possessed body in the cursed grave that holds the original susuk cage. The plan forces the jinn to be locked once again between the earth and the bound‑up needle.

The villagers, led by the spiteful Seno, try to stop them, fearing the stigma the sisters bring. In the ensuing chase Arman is fatally slashed while protecting Ayu, and Damar is brutally torn apart by the entity that has taken over Laras. With the road cleared, Ayu reaches the ancient burial spot. She discovers the correct grave only after spotting a strip of cloth tied to a stone— the very lock that once restrained her mother’s spirit.

Laras, now fully possessed, lashes out as the group begins to dig. In a harrowing moment Ayu realizes that fighting the creature is impossible; the only way to imprison it again is to return the host to the ground. She thrusts the now‑dead Laras into the open grave beside her mother, and the jinn is drawn into the sealed susuk cage that rests beneath the earth. The sudden quiet that follows signals that the evil has finally been sealed away.

The film ends with Ayu alone in the lone taxi that brought them to the grave. She wipes her face in the rear‑view mirror, a gesture that suggests she’s trying to wash away the horror she has survived. She looks directly at the camera, breaking the fourth wall, as if to warn the viewer: the temptation of susuk bears a price too high to pay. With her sister, lover, and father all gone, Ayu is left to return to Jakarta and resume her successful makeup‑artist career—now a woman who knows the true cost of chasing beauty through forbidden charms.
