Set in 1971 Vietnam, a young wife discovers her husband has vanished after departing for the war without telling her. Determined to find him, she joins a traveling musical troupe, becoming its lead singer. As she moves from town to town, her songs carry both hope and desperation while she searches for the missing husband amid the conflict.
