Socialite banker Henry Judson funds his lavish habits by siphoning money from his own bank. When sleazy assistant manager Waters discovers the embezzlement, he blackmails Henry into keeping the scheme alive. With their fraud on the brink of exposure, the pair concoct a plot that frames Wally, the ex‑convict boyfriend of hat‑check girl Rose Abbott, sending him to death row.
