Jesse Threebears, a Native‑American teen who has been shuffled through foster homes since his mother’s death, finally finds stability when his grandfather—recently released after a ten‑year prison term—takes him in on the reservation. With his grandfather’s guidance and support from other reservation members, Jesse learns about his cultural heritage and forms a bond with a wild stallion that mirrors his untamed spirit, helping him confront his troubled past and move toward healing and self‑acceptance.
