Spinach Fer Britain

Five Nazi soldiers patrol the coast aboard a U-boat, destroying anything they encounter. Each time they defeat an enemy, a crewman leaps to the bow and salutes the captain while shouting 'Heil Hitler!', then shoves the captain back into the sub before they dive to resume their patrol.

Popeye heads for Britain with a shipment of spinach to provide a war ration. As he nears the White Cliffs of Dover, the Nazi patrol attacks and sinks his ship, forcing him to escape in a rowboat with his spinach.

Popeye rows away in a small boat while being pursued by the Nazis. In a bold counterstrike, he flips the enemy U-boat upside-down and quickly withdraws, foiling the pursuers.

Popeye rows into a minefield and his boat is destroyed before he can escape. He scrambles to collect all his spinach, ensuring he still has something to rely on for strength.

The Nazis ready their U-boat's turret, but Popeye's tobacco smoke makes it sneeze and fire uncontrollably, knocking Popeye out cold and sending his spinach flying through a bulkhead door. The Nazis celebrate, thinking Popeye is dead, while Popeye lies unconscious on the ocean floor with the U-boat's propeller perched on his head.

Popeye regains consciousness and uses a can of spinach, using the spinning propeller as a makeshift can opener. The spinach fills his arm with power, turning it into a makeshift depth charge ready for action.

Using the spinning propeller as transportation, Popeye blasts a hole in the Nazi U-boat and begins tearing the craft apart. The enhanced strength from the spinach makes his strikes decisive.

From the ruined sub, four Nazi soldiers emerge one by one and meet a swift uppercut from Popeye. Each soldier is knocked into the minefield, meeting their deaths.

Popeye rows the half-destroyed U-boat toward Britain, navigating through dense fog. The battered craft carries him toward the safety of Britain and the end of the chase.

In a thick fog, the U-boat crashes into traffic just outside 10 Downing Street in London. The collision sends spinach cans spilling into the crowd, prompting cheers from the Londoners.

Popeye exits the sub with the battered Nazi captain, who salutes and yells Heil Hitler. Popeye traps him back inside the U-boat and then reappears, puffing his pipe and signaling victory with a V for Victory.

With the captain contained, Popeye raises his pipe in a victory gesture as the crowd cheers, conclusively signaling the end of the chase and celebrating his defiant triumph.
