During a harsh winter in a rural farming community, a young girl is injured in an accident. An 11-year-old boy, Sam, leaves her behind to care for his family, who are struggling with their own grief. As the consequences of his hasty decision weigh heavily on him, Sam feels compelled to return and search for the girl he left behind, confronting his guilt and the impact of his actions.
