Nobiko and Tomiko attend the same school, but their lives are worlds apart. Nobiko, from a modest background, excels academically and ranks among the top students, while Tomiko, raised in wealth, struggles to keep up. Previously, Tomiko’s father was fond of Nobiko’s mother, adding a subtle layer of past connection between the families.
