A Czech psychological drama about the school of life, its sorrows and beauties, seen through rural medicine. Young nurse‑trainee Marie Sahulová, after secretly bringing a boy to her boarding school, is reassigned to a 1950s health centre. With an ageing doctor and the wise nurse “babi”, she rides to twenty‑five isolated villages, confronting harsh conditions, worries and medical dilemmas. The experience matures her and gives purpose to her work and life.
