Determined to prevent the West's worst massacre, a Union army captain races back after Custer’s defeat to warn a remote town that Sioux warriors are on the move. The townsfolk possess two machine guns but refuse to turn them over, forcing the captain to confront both the invading force and the community’s stubbornness.
