To win a million‑dollar prize, contestants agree to play the Red Room, a brutal underground Japanese game show. A husband and wife on the brink of divorce, an office lady and a schoolgirl are locked inside and draw cards in the “king game.” The king picks two rivals to enter a cage where one must perform extreme, often lethal, acts on the other. The contest ends only when one survivor remains; the losers are taken away in body bags.
