Qorin (2022) Ending Explained – Final Scene & Meaning

The final confrontation takes place on the school’s bridge, where the cursed girls finally face Ustad Jaelani. Ummi Yana, the devoted overseer, throws herself into prayer, invoking the spirit of the school’s founder, Kiai Mustofa. His pure presence briefly overwhelms Jaelani’s dark power, buying the girls a fleeting chance to flee. In the chaos Jaelani slashes Yana, ending her life.

Jaelani then turns on his wife, Ummi Hana, and a brutal struggle erupts. Hana fights desperately, but Jaelani’s strength seems unstoppable—until Yolanda bursts in, shielding Hana and taking a mortal wound herself. At the same moment, Zahra recites verses from the Qur’an, casting out the Qorin that has haunted her, and seizes a knife. She drives it into Jaelani’s throat and hurls his body over the railing, ending his reign of terror.

Yolanda dies in Zahra’s arms, fulfilling her promise to stay by her side, while the surviving girls—Zahra, the rescued Sri, and the wounded Hana—are left to grapple with the trauma of abuse and the loss of their friends. The film closes on the uneasy sense that freedom has been won, but the scars will linger.

In the mid‑credit scene the shrouds the girls fashioned for the Jinns are set ablaze, a ritual meant to send the evil companions back to their realm. Shadows of the summoned spirits linger around the flames, leaving it ambiguous whether the threat is truly gone or if Jaelani’s malice might someday return.
