Mark’s radio broadcasts unveil the oppressive environment controlled by Principal Loretta Creswood. As he sheds light on school realities, he becomes a symbol of defiance against the corrupt administration.

Among his listeners is Nora Diniro, who frequently writes to Hard Harry. Upon discovering his identity, she takes a protective stance toward Mark, leading to a complex relationship filled with both awkwardness and depth.

One of Harry's broadcasts features a caller, Malcolm Kaiser, who expresses feelings of despair and suicidal thoughts. Despite Mark's efforts to encourage Malcolm to seek help, he is unable to do so successfully.
