Set in Russia, America, and Japan, the film follows Vladimir Ognev, the son of Russian immigrants. In the early 2000s, he enjoys a successful career and a fulfilling personal life while studying in the United States. Following his dissertation defense, Vladimir is recruited by a UN special department to analyze a complex scenario: how would humanity respond to the revelation of long-standing contact with an alien civilization? As Vladimir delves deeper, he discovers the scenario might be disturbingly real, and the fate of Earth rests on his research.
